Production Operatives

Full-Time:            38.5 hours average per week

Shift:                    4 on / 4 off Rotating Days or Nights – 12 hour shifts

Rate of Pay:       Starting from £10.42

About The Role

We are a leading food manufacturing company with over 20 years’ experience in the bakery business.
We currently produce a range of quality frozen ‘bake off’ and craft bakery products encompassing Savoury Pastry, Sweet Pastry, Bread, Morning Goods and Confectionery products from seven cutting-edge bakeries around the UK.

David Wood Foods is a food manufacturing organisation with a site based in Spalding. We have over 20 years experience in the food business, and currently produce a range of quality products for the retail and food service industry from seven high-tech factories.

We are looking for Production Operatives to join out fast growing team and business based in Spalding, Lincolnshire.  Your main tasks will be to ensure products are produced and packed in an efficient and timely manner to the highest possible quality standards working to our customer specifications.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery according to plan.
  • To fulfil any reasonable tasks requested by your Team Leader/Supervisor/Manager
  • Ensure Health & Safety guidelines/procedures are being adhered to at all times, and that you are complying with company policy of Clean as You Go within your workstation.
  • Ensure Food Quality/Safety and legality procedures and checks, sign offs & paperwork is completed as per DWB requirements.
  • Ensure all products are packed efficiently, correctly labelled and coded on the tags and outer case labels in accordance with the packing specification.
  • Report any Out of Spec products/machinery issues/non-conformances to team leader/supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
  • Follow and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Good organisational and time-keeping skills
  • Must have basic English communication and math skills.
  • Experience with a manufacturing environment is required, with knowledge of operating machinery desirable
