Production Operatives

Full-Time: 37.5hrs per week

Shift Patterns: Mon- Fri (06:00am- 14:00pm or 14:00pm-22:00pm)

Rate of Pay: Meets National Living Wage

About The Role

David Wood Foods is a food manufacturing organisation with a site based in Sheerness. We have over 20 years experience in the food business, and currently produce a range of quality products for the retail and foodservice industry from seven high-tech factories.

Working with key partners we have already developed a number of new exciting and award-winning products that continue to attract and delight consumers.

We are looking for “Production/Packing Operatives” to join our fast growing team and business based in Sheerness, Kent. Your main tasks will be to ensure products are produced and packed in an efficient and timely manner to the highest possible quality standards working to our customer specifications.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery according to plan.
  • To fulfill any reasonable tasks requested by your Team Leader/Supervisor/Manager
  • Ensure Health & Safety guidelines/procedures are being adhered to at all times, and that you are complying with company policy of Clean As You Go within your work station.
  • Ensure food quality/safety and legality procedures and checks, sign offs & paperwork is completed as per DWF requirements.
  • Ensure all products are packed efficiently, correctly labelled and coded on the tags and outer case labels in accordance with the packing specification.
  • Report any out of spec products/machinery issues/non-conformances to team leader/supervisor promptly.
  • Machine operation
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
  • Follow and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Good organisational and time-keeping skills
  • Basic understanding of HACCP and COSHH

Experience within a manufacturing environment is required, with knowledge of operating machinery desirable.
